The Saucony Shadow 6000 is a definite crowd-pleaser, and is one of Saucony’s classic models. Though it is made for the neutral to underpronator, this shoe’s design can accommodate many foot types. It has Saucony’s classic look and feel and has needed few improvements over the years to keep it a popular choice.

Saucony did shave off some of the uneccessary rubber in its newest rendition of this classic to reduce the shoe’s overall weight by a full ounce. However, they did leave this highly durable outsole intact in the places that see the most wear, the heels and forefoot.

The Shadow 6000 definitely has a “retro” feel, and its design was purposely kept simpler than some of Saucony’s other running shoe options. The Shadow 6000 is equipped with Saucony’s Premier sock liner, which is a breathable, anti-bacterial OrthoLite insole. This insole provides a little extra room in the shoe to accommodate orthotics for those runners who suffer from bunions.

The midsole features an Ionic Cushioning System that provides additional cushioning and aids in reducing impact. Saucony added an EVA/polyuerathane midsole that runs the full length of the shoe for added support and comfort.

As for the outsole, the Shadow is totally focused on traction and durability. With a Triangular Lug Design rubber sole system, you will get amazing grip. Also, this system is so durable that your Shadow 6000’s will outlast most other options.

This shoe also comes with Scotchlite Reflective on the outer, which is a bonus if you tend to walk or run at night.

Is Saucony Shadow 6000 The Best Running Shoe For Me?

Runners agreed the Shadow was a roomier option, with a bigger toe box, and the capability to accommodate orthotics without compromising comfort.

However, with that said, many testers found that the heel and midfoot still maintained a snugger fit, and was a better option for those with narrow heels.

Overall, the Saucony Shadow provides a smooth and supportive ride. It does have a retro look and feel, but the comfort of this shoe tends to outweigh everything else.

Though it’s a good option for a wide range of people, the Shadow is most popular amongst active individuals who may not always use them for running, but for overall comfort and stability.

It is also a great option for those who want a strong shoe without having to pay for all of the bells and whistles, making it the “#1 Value Choice” in our list! If you love value as much as we do, treat your feet to a pair of Saucony Shadow 6000’s.
