The Adidas Adios has been dubbed the “fastest shoe in the world” and for good reason.

Legendary Haile Gebrelassie wore this shoe when he finished the Berlin Marathon in 2:03:59 in September 2008, which set a new world record. If it was good enough for Gebrelassie, it is good enough for me, and it is sure to help you beat your latest race time.

The Adidas Adizero Adios is ideal for neutral to moderate underpronation. It is extremely lightweight, making it a fantastic choice for races and competitions.

To increase performance, this shoe is equipped with a nonslip lining and blown-rubber front sole for added grip. The Adidas Adizero Adios is also compatible with Adidas’ MiCoach feature, which keeps track of your pace and heart rate during your runs.

This shoe also features the EVA tongue for increased breathability, and a molded respoEVA sockliner to add a snugger fit to your foot. The adiPRENE technology in the forefoot and heel helps provide a more controlled motion, while improving the shoe’s shock absorption.

Additionally, the Adidas Adizero Adios features Quickstrike technology on the outsole which improves the shoes overall flexibility while keeping it relatively lightweight.

Is Adidas Adios The Best Running Shoe For Me?

Runners have raved about how lightweight the shoe is, and how much faster they felt when running in them. It does appear that this shoe is geared more towards competition use, so it may not be the best option for long training runs. However, they could be great for tempo runs, or fartlek training.

Runners did comment that the Adidas Adios was an extremely versatile competition shoe, whether running a 200m or a marathon. For such a lightweight shoe, the majority of runners find the Adios to be extremely comfortable.

Because it is relatively lightweight, do not expect to get as many miles out of these shoes as your trainers. Don’t be surprised if they need to be replaced after 100 miles.

So who is the Adios best suited for? It’s ideal for more serious runners, and those who regularly participate in competitions. However, if you are looking for a more versatile, “all-around” shoe, this probably isn’t your best option. Instead, check out the Adidas Supernova Glide 3, which will help increase your speed and technique.
